Privacy Policy

Chalano, operated by DeriVault LLC ("Chalano", "we"), operates the Chalano mobile app and chalano.com, a marketplace connecting customers with independent home-service professionals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Contact: support@chalano.com.

1. Data we collect

• Account: name, email, phone, profile photo, preferred language, and role (customer or professional).
• Professional profile (providers only): business name, services, rates, service area, business hours, and license/insurance documents you submit for verification.
• Job content: descriptions, job photos (before/after), quotes, chat messages, reviews, and dispute evidence.
• Location: the customer's location to find nearby pros; the professional's location in the background only during an active job, so the customer can track arrival and live progress. Tracking stops when the workday or job ends.
• Payments: processed by Stripe; Chalano never stores full card numbers. We keep amounts, deposits, tips, refunds, and wallet balances for your history.
• Technical: push notification token, device identifiers, usage logs, and anti-abuse data (e.g. the Cloudflare Turnstile challenge at signup).

2. How we use it

• Match requests with nearby, qualified professionals and show distances and ETAs.
• Process payments, deposits, refunds, and gift credits securely.
• Generate AI estimates from your descriptions and photos (processed solely to draft scope and a price range).
• Send notifications about your bookings, messages, and reminders; transactional email via Brevo.
• Verify professional credentials and keep the marketplace safe (fraud prevention, disputes, no-shows).

3. Who we share it with

• Between users: the customer and professional on the same booking see what's needed to do the job (name, photo, job address, contact phone, live location during service).
• Service providers: Supabase (database & auth), Stripe (payments), Google Maps (maps & geocoding), Expo (push notifications), Cloudflare (bot protection), Brevo (email). Each processes data only to perform its function.
• We never sell your personal data.

4. Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile is anonymized and personal data is removed; financial records (payments, invoices, disputes) are retained as long as the law requires. See how to delete your account.

5. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your data, and object to certain uses, by emailing support@chalano.com or from Settings in the app. Residents of California, Virginia, and other states with privacy laws may exercise these rights without discrimination.

6. Children

Chalano is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

7. Changes

Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
